hi there

I'm Rachael, never Rach.

Aspiring novelist, all-purpose creative professional, and law student (IP concentration).

In 2017, I moved to Cleveland from Pittsburgh and immediately fell in love. So much so that my adoptive city is a staple character in all my fiction and most of my stock landscape photography. When I'm not studying, working, or writing, you'll find me in one of the local parks, museums, theatres, or public libraries. I live on the westside with my one husband (Benjamin), two vintage pianos, and three rescue cats (MaryAnne, Persephone, and Bruce).

Have a look around, or ask about my available manuscript, Cleveland favorites, and grammar hot takes.

my anti-AI policy

AI is terrible for the planet, social equality, artistic integrity, creativity, and privacy—and its outputs aren't any better. I do not use AI in any aspect of my creative work.

However, my employers sometimes require AI use. I push back against these mandates whenever I can. But if I have to use AI for a project, I submit it with a separate AI disclosure that details which AI I used and how.
